Description

Cedars Retirement Village based in Chorleywood is on the lookout for a Wellbeing Advisor to work either 8am-2pm or 2pm-8pm or sleeping nights 8pm-8am, (you can choose which shifts you prefer) 5 out of 7 days a week. 36 Hour Contract.

As a Wellbeing Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the lives of our residents. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to emergency calls within the Village and delivering first aid where needed.
  • Promoting the health and wellbeing of older people living within the Village and to help maintain independence and safety for residents.
  • Carrying out wellbeing assessments for residents and enhancing the current wellbeing service
  • Support monitoring of the emergency call system, report issues and faults to the village manager
  • Signposting to healthcare professionals e.g., GP / primary care services. 
  • Providing information and awareness sessions about key health issues such as osteoporosis / falls prevention, heart disease etc
  • Setting up wellbeing focus groups to meet up on a monthly basis where appropriate.
  • To ensure all aspects of Health and Safety in your location adhere to RVG’s Health and Safety policies and requirements.

 

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in managing older people. 
  • Experience or knowledge of primary care and referral to primary care 
  • Ability to analyse risk and respond appropriately, seeking support as necessary.  
  • Emergency first aid qualified ideally but training can be provided and able to get to the floor unaided and unassisted; confident in administering CPR until further help arrives.
  • Full understanding of supporting a resident in an emergency situation and supporting until emergency services arrive.
